Details

Use the Details tab to define the basic information and behavior for a type. These settings control how the type is identified, how instances move through a lifecycle, how instance names and tracking IDs are generated, and which thumbnail is shown for the type.

Basic details​

FieldDescription
NameThe internal type name. It is required when creating a type and can contain letters and numbers only. After the type is created, the name cannot be edited.
Singular NameThe display name used when referring to one instance of the type.
Plural NameThe display name used when referring to multiple instances of the type.
LifecycleThe lifecycle that controls the states and transitions for instances of this type. This field is required.
Instance Specific LifecycleAllows instances of the type to use a selected lifecycle. If an instance does not have a selected lifecycle, the type lifecycle is used.

Type options​

Geolocation RequiredRequires geolocation information for instances of the type.
Enforce Name UniquenessPrevents duplicate instance names for the type. This option cannot be enabled while duplicate active instances already exist.
Enable Audit TrailEnables audit tracking for changes made to instances of the type.
Enable Hierarchical SortingEnables hierarchical sorting when supported by the type. This option is available for STANDARDTask.

Instance names and tracking IDs​

Enable Auto Generate Instance Name to generate instance names from a sequence code. When this option is selected, choose an Instance Name Sequence Code.

Enable Tracking Required when instances of the type must have tracking IDs. To generate tracking IDs automatically, select Auto Generate Tracking Id and choose a Tracking Sequence code.

Thumbnail​

Use Thumbnail to choose how the type is represented visually. Select Icons to use an icon, or select Images to upload custom thumbnail images.

When using images, provide the thumbnail sizes shown in the editor:
