Triggers

Use the Triggers tab to associate trigger programs with a type. Trigger programs run when users or the system perform specific actions on instances of the type.

You can configure programs for these events:

Event	When it runs
PreCreate	Before an instance is created.
PostCreate	After an instance is created.
PreUpdate	Before an instance is updated.
PostUpdate	After an instance is updated.
PreDelete	Before an instance is deleted.
PostDelete	After an instance is deleted.
PreUpload Instance Attachment	Before an attachment is uploaded to an instance.
PostUpload Instance Attachment	After an attachment is uploaded to an instance.
PreDelete Instance Attachment	Before an instance attachment is deleted.
PostDelete Instance Attachment	After an instance attachment is deleted.
PreMessage	Before a message is added to an instance.
PostMessage	After a message is added to an instance.
PreMessageReply	Before a message reply is added.
PostMessageReply	After a message reply is added.
PreGet	Before instance details are retrieved.
PostGet	After instance details are retrieved.

The available programs are filtered by the trigger type expected by each field. Most trigger fields allow multiple programs. PreExport Document Trigger Program allows one program and is used before document export.

The PreImport trigger is available for the UserProfile type.
